Considerable
care has been taken in the conversion of this stable block, which
stands in the garden of a larger cottage in the small hamlet of
Kilmington. Situated on the borders of Wiltshire and Somerset, this
is a quiet, very countrified location, the surrounding area being ideal
for country walks. Nearby Long Knoll is one of the highest points in
Wiltshire and there is also a network of footpaths on the Stourhead
Estate, just 2 miles away. Here visitors can admire the fine, 18th
century Palladian Mansion and enjoy the magnificent landscaped gardens
with their lakes, temples and many specimen trees.
As a touring location, Kilmington is very centrally situated; Bath,
Salisbury, Shaftesbury, Wells, Glastonbury, Cheddar Gorge and Longleat
are all within 45 minutes' drive while the South Dorset coastline is
reachable in an hour.
