| Peacefully
situated on a south facing hillside with far reaching views across open
country, this is a delightful 250 year old cottage of brick, stone and
thatch which has been refurbished by its owner to a particularly high
standard, its character and charm having been combined with an
excellent range of facilities.
This corner of southern England, where Wiltshire blends into
Dorset, is within 2 hours' drive of London via the M3 and A303 and
offers superb countryside with dramatically contrasting landscapes. The
area is ideal for walking and there are stupendous views from The
Green, half a mile up hill, and from local Dorset landmarks such as
Gold Hill in Shaftesbury, Win Green, Hambledon Hill and Melbury Beacon.
This part of the country is also well endowed with good village pubs,
the nearest being The Fox & Hounds, just half a mile away at The
Green.
The cottage is also ideally situated for visiting a whole host of
historic sites and attractions, including Bath 25 miles, Salisbury 20
miles, Stourhead, Longleat, Wardour Castle ruins, Stonehenge.... the
list is endless! A spectacular stretch of the South Dorset coastline,
from the Isle of Purbeck to Lyme Regis, is reachable in an hour or less. Spring Cottage has been awarded a 3 star grading by Visit Britain.
