| Adjacent
to Well Cottage (H302) in a small enclave of cottages and houses, The
Pumphouse was completely refurbished and extended by its current owners
to provide very comfortable and spacious accommodation. Situated in the
conservation area of the small village of Bradpole, it is a mile and a
half to the north of Bridport, which was once the main rope and net
producing town in the country. Beyond Bridport and right on the coast
is West Bay, which has a shingle beach, small harbour and is popular
with fishermen.
The Pumphouse provides an ideal base from which to explore the
whole of this fascinating South Dorset coastline, England's first
natural World Heritage site, known as the Jurassic coast. Charmouth
(sandy beach) and Lyme Regis (sandy beach, rock pools, popular with
fossil collectors), Abbotsbury (swannery and sub-tropical gardens) are
a short drive away, while for keen walkers the coast path provides the
best way to enjoy the stunning views from the high points such as
Golden Cap.
This property is new to our listings.
